This year, we are going to be hosting our very first Native American Day. It will take place next week on Wednesday, September 19th, 2012. All 4th and 5th graders will take part in the four, 30 minute rotations that will be held that day. Students will have the opportunity to carve a canoe (on a bar of soap,) write a message with native american symbols onleather-like paper (brown paper bag,) weave a small mat, mold a figure with clay, and finally watch a Native American video. Students are being asked that they wear comfortable clothes that day that if damaged/painted on, will be okay.
We will be doing a lot of projects in class and in our computer lab. Some projects will not be completed in the alloted time given to us when we visit the computer lab. I recommend that you buy a flash drive for your son/daughter so that they are able to save and work on documents at home. Thank you!!
I want to thank all of your parents for their generosity in donating all the school supplies.
This week starts our new homework routine. Don’t forget to only do one assignment per day on the homework menu. The math sheet is due the very next day.
